Rubble Vase II, Handmade Anthracite Stoneware Vase, Iron Oxide

Rubble Vase II is a one-of-a-kind handmade anthracite stoneware vase, wheel-thrown in Berlin. Its dark clay body is washed with iron oxide, while water moving across the surface before firing leaves marks like rain on stone.

The opening is cut by hand after the closed cylinder is thrown. White clay slip mixed with grog is worked into the rim, creating a tactile edge that recalls limestone forming on rock.
