A soft cream surface meets a hand-fitted stainless-steel wire band. The lightest tone in this range, shaped for a full coffee or tea and everyday pauses.

How I make it

I use the same iron oxide as in the rest of the range, but mix it thinner for this cup, so it fires cream rather than dark rust. I apply the diluted slip with my fingers, leaving traces of the process on the surface.

The thinner slip settles less evenly than my standard mix, creating soft edges rather than a sharp line. I carve the groove for the wire during trimming and fit the stainless-steel band by hand after firing.

Details

Material: stoneware and stainless-steel wire

Capacity: 250 ml

Weight: approximately 263 g

Technique: wheel-thrown, hand-applied diluted iron oxide slip

Finish: cream tone with a hand-fitted stainless-steel wire band

Interior: clear, food-safe glaze

Fired to 1240°C

Made in Berlin, Germany

Use and care

Suited to a full coffee or tea.
